The Results

Following your breast reduction surgery, you should rest and follow instructions provided by Dr. Orteon. Pain medication will be needed to help manage post-operative discomfort. You may also need to care for your incisions and surgical drains. During a follow-up visit, the drains and sutures will be removed. A special bra is provided, which will need to be worn for several weeks after your breast reduction. During your consultation, Dr. Ortegon will tell you what to expect during recovery, including when you can lift heavy objects, exercise, and return to work following surgery.

You may experience swelling, but you will see the results right away. You should feel the reduced weight of your breasts immediately. Breast reduction leaves scars, and most patients find that the scars fade and flatten significantly in about one year. These scars will not show under a bra or swimsuit.
