CoolSculpting FAQ

Being one of the newer treatments, patients have many questions about CoolSculpting. If you are interested in treatment, but would like to learn more, here are some frequently asked questions about CoolSculpting.

What is CoolSculpting?

CoolSculpting is a non-surgical body contouring treatment that uses a process known as cryolipolysis to freeze and eliminate fat from the abdomen, hips, and thighs.

Does CoolSculpting hurt?

During a CoolSculpting treatment, patients often experience a firm pulling sensation along with slight pressure at the treatment site. The cooling energy causes an intense cold feeling, but does not harm the skin. You should, however feel comfortable enough to read, watch television, work, or even take a nap during your treatment.

How long does it take to see results from CoolSculpting?

You will begin seeing results in as little as three weeks, but final results will typically occur around 4-6 months. The fat reduction from CoolSculpting is gradual, so you will notice a slimming of the treatment location over time.

Is the fat gone for good after CoolSculpting?

While the eliminated fat cells will not return, you can still gain weight by reverting to a poor diet or minimal exercise. Patients who have CoolSculpting and maintain a healthy lifestyle are able to enjoy ongoing results.
