Non-Invasive Cellulite Removal

Cellfina | Cellulite Treatment | San Antonio Cosmetic Surgery

If you’re a woman, no matter what your level of fitness, odds are you have at least some cellulite. Nine out of 10 women have cellulite, making it a universally hated condition. Despite the false promises of many supposed cellulite treatments, there hasn’t been much anyone could do to get rid of this telltale dimpling of the skin on the thighs and bottom, until now…

Introducing Cellfina™, the only FDA-approved procedure that dramatically improves the appearance of cellulite for at least three years.

What is Cellfina™?

Cellfina™ treats the primary cause of cellulite, fat in the thighs and buttocks causing uneven dimpling. This in-office procedure is minimally invasive and only takes around an hour.

Why Do Women Have Cellulite?

Most people attribute a woman’s percentage of body fat as the reason behind cellulite; however, that is not true.  Cellulite can form due to genetics, weight gain, a stressful lifestyle or hormonal contraceptives may contribute to cellulite causing the connective bands that are woven through the fatty tissues underneath skin, trapping fat into pockets around the buttock and thigh areas.  The skin pulled creates a dimpling seen on the surface.  This dimpling causes unsightly indentations versus smooth skin.

Cellfina™ Treatment

The day of treatment Dr. Ortegon will first identify your target areas of cellulite and apply topical anesthetic.  The Cellfina™ handpiece is then placed on the target area and the system uses a suction stabilizer to pull the skin taut and stretch the cellulite-causing connective bands. Dr. Ortegon will insert the Cellfina™ handpiece under the skin, that will diminish the connection bands pulling the skin inward.  Once the bands are released, the skin bounces upwards, causing smoother skin which is noticeable within a few days of treatment.

How Long Does The Cellfina™ Procedure Take?

A Cellfina™ treatment with Dr. Ortegon takes about one hour. During this time, on average, 20 to 30 pinky nail to thumbnail-size dimples can be treated. Does the procedure hurt and are there side effects? Cellfina™ is only minimally invasive, using a small needle-sized device to break the connective bands. Afterward, there is some soreness, tenderness, and some minor bruising at the treatment sites. Any residual pain passes in a couple of days. We advise our patients to wear Spanx or compression shorts for a week after their Cellfina™ session.
